Finally done with the damn thing. This one took about 66 hours total, though not all of those hours were pure game play (lots of racking up coins at the in-game casino). Overall, I thought DQ8’s graphics were really nice (the toon-shading style works really well for the underpowered PS2) but the story and the gameplay were very much the same old same old. I feel like the FF series is much more innovative and explorative in this sense.
Anyways, I really don’t have time for these RPG’s anymore, but I still have to get through FF X-2 now…
