As I continue to think about the future desktop purchase, I wondered if anyone has done a in-depth comparison of Windows vs OSX on the web. Well I found one “here”:http://www.xvsxp.com/
While interesting (their scores come out about even), the major flaw of this comparison (for me) is that they don’t consider the 3rd party software available for each OS. They come up with a score for a category only by looking at built-in features or freely available add-ons, completely ignoring for-pay applications.
Except for free software zealots, who runs only an OS + free apps? The more interesting comparison is which platform can do more, given the best-of-breed applications available for each.
