After much debating and hesitating, I took the plunge and ordered the white apple bluetooth keyboard. There were many uncertanties surrounding the purchase of this product… many conflicting reports regarding its connection reliability and its overall quality.
Well, I’m happy to say that I’ve been using it for about 10 mintues now, and it seems pretty good so far. The lag is undetectable, and it seems to hold up pretty well to my typing speed. And it feels pretty good to boot. I’d say its not quite as stiff-mushy as the Kinesis Maxim, but also not quite as snappy as the powerbook keyboard itself. But the keys are light enough, the travel is a good amount (not too shallow but also not too deep) and the weight required to push down each key seems to be not too much, so it doesn’t require to really punch the keys down.
The key layout is somewhat mushed together if you compare it to standard fullsize pc keyboards, but i kinda like it that way. The quality reminds me of when I first got my happy hacking keyboard. This thing isn’t much bigger, but it has the full numpad as well as direction arrows, and F keys all the way up to F13.
Anyways, some more full testing tomorrow I suppose.
